Chiropractic for Infants

Chiropractic is safe, gentle, and very effective for babies.

The purpose of chiropractic care is to empower the Nervous System to work as effectively and efficiently as possible. This is extremely beneficial for babies as they develop at such a rapid rate.

You may be wondering, “why would a baby need to be adjusted?”

The birthing process can be quite stressful for the baby. All of the twisting, torquing, compressing and pulling creates a lot of force on the infant’s fragile spine, especially if intervention is used during the birthing process, or if the birth was particularly long. The upper neck region is the most commonly affected area and results in overall tension in the spine and nervous system. The sooner it is corrected, the better.

Another benefit to chiropractic care is being able to assess and adjust the baby’s latch. Breastfeeding is a wildly important function for a newborn and can be an emotional experience for mom. If latching or feeding is an issue chiropractic care is a great option.

Signs that a baby may benefit from chiropractic care:

  • Not sleeping

  • Not latching well

  • Not feeding well

  • Arching back

  • Frequent ear infections

  • Head tilted to one side

  • Colic

  • Constipation

  • Always fussy

  • Torticolis

  • And more

Starting chiropractic care young creates a solid foundation of health and leads to greater vitality for the rest of life!

Words from patients

“She began providing care for my newborn at 6 days old, in addition to helping my body stay aligned and healthy through postpartum recovery. She saw my daughter regularly since birth to facilitate healthy sleep and bio-functions, in addition to monitoring and correcting a condition called Torticollis, which is neck muscle tightness on one side causing baby to favor tilting head one way which can lead to cranial flat spots called Plagiocephaly. At 6 months old, baby was cleared from her Torticollis and Plagiocephaly thanks in large part to the gentle care and guidance from Dr. Maddie.”

“Dr. Maddie has helped both myself and my 11 year old son feel "good" in our bodies! Every time we leave her office we both feel relaxed and comfortable after our adjustments. She has helped me so much with relieving chronic headaches and helped my son with his ADHD”
